Meet Our Team
Steve Hewlett
A Nashville native and Belmont University graduate, Mr. Hewlett owned and operated his own construction company from 1967 through 1986, building and developing residential single and multi-family units, commercial office, retail shopping, industrial warehousing, distribution and service facilities.
Mr. Hewlett was elected to the Tennessee Public Service Commission in 1986, serving two terms. In 1996, Mr. Hewlett joined Hewlett Spencer, LLC as President and CEO and currently acts as the development team leader.
Jamie Spencer
Jamie graduated from Samford University, Birmingham, AL. in 1995, and moved to Nashville where he put his Business/Marketing degree quickly to use.
Jamie spent the better part of his earlier years in Nashville as a commercial real estate broker with the Charles Hawkins Company buying, selling, leasing and developing property until joining Hewlett Spencer, LLC in February of 2002.
Ron Bargatze
Native Tennessean, graduate of Antioch High School, Belmont University (BS), Middle Tennessee State University (MA), Coached and taught at the following universities: Belmont, Tennessee Tech University, Vanderbilt University, Trevecca Nazarene University, Austin Peay State University.
Member of Nashvile Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame and Belmont University Athletic Hall of Fame Fifteen years as Color Analyst for Vanderbilt Basketball Radio Network and nineteen years as Color Analyst for TSSAA Basketball State Championships.
Twenty two years as a freelance television color analyst of various college basketball games. Twenty five years in sales and management of real estate development, residential and commercial construction and educational facilities. While involved full-time in these areas, over 35 years of volunteer work in the educational and athletic development of middle and high-school students.
Passionate hobbies: golf and helping young basketball players develop their skills.
Ronnie Carter
For over three decades, Ronnie Carter served schools throughout Tennessee with great faithfulness and a sense of fairness. Upon retirement from his post of Executive Director of The Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association, Ronnie had a continuing desire to work with the people with whom he had been associated and crafted many strong relationships.
Hewlett Spencer has been providing educational facilities to school systems in Tennessee for over eighteen years with the same values that Ronnie Carter embodied in his work with the thousands of administrators, coaches, officials and student athletes in his 31 years at the TSSAA.
